Changing The Game for Middle School Students
Engaging in team sports has been proven to result in a myriad of positive outcomes for students, including heightened school attendance, improved GPAs, reduced dropout rates, decreased gang involvement, deliberate engagement with mentors, and exposure to beneficial peer influence, particularly among middle school students.
However, despite these benefits, many middle school students in the Coastal Bend are unable to participate in team sports due to financial constraints that prevent them from acquiring the necessary footwear.
To address this issue, Kicks For Class, sponsored by Heil Law Firm, aims to bridge the gap between generations and resources. By providing students with the footwear they need to participate in team sports, this initiative fosters collective action to shape a brighter future for all students in the Coastal Bend community.
